Stephanie Barba Mendoza is dedicated to bringing concepts to life via a direct and personal process, cultivating authentic relationships with clients in order to best recognise their needs. Whether helping clients to realise their vision or supporting them in establishing their own unique style, Stephanie ensures each project is wholly aligned with the lifestyles and personalities of those for whom they are designed.

A colour, pattern and material aficionado, Stephanie infuses each space with a playful and bold ambiance born from the designer’s innovative visual explorations. A fondness for both working with talented craftspeople and discovering antique items adds another distinctive layer to Stephanie’s bespoke approach. Stephanie believes that the key to a successful space is finding the perfect mix between contemporary and classic, pairing this with an expert layering of material and colour, and completing it with an abundance of warmth.

“Exaggeration is my only reality.”

– DIANA VREELAND

Stephanie’s influences are not limited to the parameters of design and she is inspired by creative personalities across a number of realms. Citing fashion editor Diana Vreeland, musicians Freddie Mercury and David Bowie, artists René Magritte and Pedro Friedeberg, and designer Serge Roche as inspirations for her work, Stephanie often draws from those known to push boundaries to the limit. Bound by a rejection of conformity and an ability to curate their own worlds, these creatives reflect Stephanie’s philosophy of challenging the rules to develop and construct interiors that promote escapism and fantasy.
